My horse listens to me - he knows when I'm talking to Meg over his back and when I'm talking to him, even though my tone doesn't change (I was pulling his mane at the time). I had a nice ride today - walk trot canter trot walk, turn, walk trot canter trot walk. Talk with Meg. Canter with no reins - that includes starting, cantering, and stopping.
