Today I got a H1 and a H2A on two papers that I got back. For those not residing in Australia, the grading scale is H1, H2A, H2B, H3, P, N. P is anything from 50-64% (it's the approximate equivalent to our C to B-).

For those not up on my travel blog, I HAVE ONE. amethodicalmadness.blogspot.com.

This is simply a repeat of what is written there because I am so epically pleased with myself.

My Day
I am currently sitting at my computer in the most awkward position possible because I have my right leg propped on a drawer with a bag of ice on my knee. I could not be happier. And why?

Let me 'splain - no. There is no time. Let me sum up.

At 9:00 am this morning I had my first class. At the end of said tutorial, I got my paper back. I got an H1 - literally the highest grade Australian Universities give out. Excellent start to the day.

Victoria then walked me to my class at 10:00 am for which I am always late and which is always boring. Today I was not only on time, but the class was relatively interesting. Wicked!

A short hike across campus and up some stairs brought me to 11:00 am and the Rowden White Library, where I watched an episode of X-Files and got out "The Handmaid's Tale" (for fun) and a Gabriel Garcia Marquez book of short stories (for class, believe it or not) and two DVDs for watching with friends this weekend.

At 12:15 pm I went downstairs and got a delicious chicken schnitzel sandwich. I ate outside in the sun.

12:40 pm saw me being very early to the Quear Collective meeting, so I read a book about photography while George experimented with napping on the couch while her legs were hooked over the back and her head was hanging off the side.

I wandered back across campus and up four flights of stairs, reaching the top at 2:12 pm. I got back my second paper of the day, on which I managed an H2A, the second highest grade you can get at Uni. Glee ensued.

A nice leisurely walk with my book brought me back to IH at 3:20 pm. I killed some time reading out on the grass, found Megan to ask when the hockey game was, and messed about on the internet.

High Table dinner was at 7:00 pm. It lasted just about an hour.

8:20 pm and I was down in the foyer with eleven other girls and Charlie, plus our one spectator (Lorne), getting suited up for hockey. We left fifteen minutes later and walked down to the Uni Hockey Pitch. We practiced for a bit and decided on our team strategy ("For God's sake, Esther, when you sub in, stay in the back and try not to show you're drunk. You four, you're on defense in the back. You four, you're in the middle. Middle, you're basically on defense just not so far back. You two, you're in front. Steph, help the defense. Naomi, you can run around, you're fast. Have fun. Remember, we don't want to beat them, we just want to piss them off."), then took the field at 9:00 pm.

What followed was a forty-minute game where no one on our team could stop laughing, Esther kept falling down, Naomi accidentally tripped a girl, Sarah fell over her own stick, and I got hit in the knee with a ball, thus giving Esther the chance to play. I have a FANTASTIC bruise coming. It really hurt. There was no water at the 9:20 pm halftime, so we took Lorne's six-pack of alcoholic cider and drank that instead. The other team looked at us like we were MAD. We lost 3-0, which is literally the best score of any IH team this year (except for the ones that won, of course, of which there is I think one). They scored two goals the first half and one the second. I think they were slightly put off by how hard we were all laughing.

We got back to IH at 10:15 pm. After a short detour for ice, I came up to my room and started writing this while propping up my knee. The ball hit right above the kneecap and it's pretty obvious. It also hurts but Charlie says it'll be fine.

It is now 10:54.

I had the best day ever.
